Outsider

Camus’ existentialist novella sees Meursault, indifferent to his motherâ€s death, commit a violent murder. His continued sense of detachment is judged to stem from a lack of remorse and that, more than his actions, determines his sentence but also reinforces his sense of his place in the universe.
